Kishore Biyani is the founder and Group CEO of Future Group. Widely credited as the pioneer of modern retail industry in India, Kishore Biyani is a mentor and role model for many Indian entrepreneurs and a thought leader in Indian business.
Over the past two decades he has created and leads some of India's most popular retail chains like Big Bazaar, Central, Brand Factory, Foodhall, fbb, among others. Over time, various retail chains like Nilgiris, Aadhaar, Easyday, Heritage, HyperCity and others have also become part of Future Group. These retail chains are present in more than 250 cities across India and attract over 500 million customers footfalls annually. Simultaneously, he has also led the creation of a wide portfolio of consumer goods brands in fashion, food and electronics space, that are distributed through the group's retail chains and various other modern retail networks in the country. The group also made substantial investments in technology, analytics, food processing, logistics and warehouse networks, provides mentorship and investments to many Indian entrepreneurs and brands and operates joint ventures with Clarks, Generali Group, Hidesign, among others.
A believer in the group’s corporate credo, ‘Rewrite Rules, Retain Values,’ Kishore Biyani considers Indianness as the core value driving the group. His autobiography, ‘It Happened In India,’ has been translated into a number of languages. Kishore Biyani was born in August 1961 and is married to Sangita Biyani. They live in Mumbai with their daughters, Ashni and Avni.
Mr. Vishnuprasad holds MBA in retail management and has over three decades of sales and retail experience. He joined the Future Group in 2001 and set up the Big Bazaar stores in the South, before moving on to head the Company’s Retail format “Central” and Fashion Brands. Prior to joining the Future Group, he has worked with Arvind Mills for 13 years.
Mr. Rahul Mehta (Aged 72 years) have passed his MBA from one of the most prestigious Management Schools of India, the Bajaj Institute in 1971.
Mr. Mehta joined what was then called Goodlass Nerolac Paints Limited and rose rapidly to become the India Sales Manager by 1982 – when the Entrepreneurial bug bit him. He joined the Creative Group as Partner and later on became the Managing Director. He launched the UFO Jeans – perhaps one of the earliest International Brands to come to India. He oversees most of the Domestic Business of the Creative Group, such as 109F, Fusion Beats, Urban Republic Jeans, Portico, etc.
Mr. Mehta is acknowledged as one of the leaders of the Domestic Garment Industry. He has served as president of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) for 7 terms. Under his leadership, CMAI not only attained greater heights and recognition, but also increased the services to its members. This was possible due to his able stewardship and close liaison with the Government of India, including the ministry of textiles, the ministry of finance, and other government organisations and institutions.
He represented India as a Board Member on the International Apparel Federation (IAF) based out of Netherlands and was the first Indian to serve as the President of Executive Committee of IAF. He is a member of the managing committee of Apparel Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council and a former member of the managing committee of the Apparel Export Promotion Council. He is also serving as a Director on the Boards of several Companies including Gini & Jony and Kamadgiri Fashion.
Mr. Rahul Mehta is extremely involved in fashion education and is Chairman of the Advisory Board of School of Fashion Technology, Pune. His experience makes him a popular teacher and lecturer and he has been a visiting faculty member to various Educational Institutions in Mumbai. He is also a regular speaker at innumerable seminars and Conferences.
Mr. C.P. Toshniwal, is currently the Non-Executive Director of Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd. (FLFL). He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary. Mr. Toshniwal started his journey with Future Group in May 1997 and has over 25 years of rich managerial experience. Prior to his association with Future Group, he worked with other corporate houses like Donear Synthetics Limited, Orient Vegetexpo Limited and Control Print India Limited. Mr. Toshniwal has strong domain knowledge of the Indian Retail Industry with good understanding of Information Technology Systems and a proven ability in setting up systems and procedures for Robust Management Accounting. He has rich experience in the field of Corporate and Strategic Planning, Financial Planning & Restructuring, Risk Management System and Process Implementation, Mergers, Amalgamations, Takeover of Business Enterprises, Raising Capital through innovative financial products. Additionally he is a very good leader with strong relationships with stakeholders and employees. He has been awarded the Best CFO Award-2011 in the Service Sector Category by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He has been also awarded “CFO100 Roll of Honour” by CFO India for his extraordinary performance as senior finance leader in Retail Industry. Mr. Toshniwal also holds the position of Chairman of Finance Committee of Retailer Association of India.
Mr. Bharat Ram (aged 59 years) holds Master in Business Administration. He has over three decades of experience in the Home Textiles, Apparel and FMCG sectors, associated with industry leaders like Arvind Ltd., Himatsingka Seide Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. His expertise covers Sales and Marketing, Product Management and Retail Management across India, the Middle East and South-East Asia.
Presently, Mr. Bharat Ram is a Director at Rohleder East Pvt. Ltd., the wholly-owned Indian subsidiary of the German Home Textile Company, Rohleder GmbH.
Ms. Neelam Chhiber (aged 59 years) is an Industrial Design graduate from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. She is also an alumnus of Global Social Benefit Incubator - Santa Clara University, USA, the Harvard Executive Program, Graduate of the Art and Science of Systems Change Program of the Harvard Kennedy School.
She is co-founder and Managing Trustee at Industree Crafts Foundation. She is also an Independent Director of Future Consumer Limited and Managing Director of Indus Tree Crafts Limited. For the past three decades she has been working with artisans in rural areas, by providing design, technical, marketing and management solutions to bridge the urban-rural divide. Her work for rural women is now transforming into building a platform as an economic opportunity for them.
She has received several awards and recognitions such as “The Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year for India” in 2011, “L’Oreal Paris Femina Women Award 2012” in the Social Impact category, “Women Change Makers Fellow” in 2013 by Womanity Foundation and “FKCCI Outstanding Women Entrepreneur of the year” in 2015.
She is also a member of All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association, Committee on Financial Literacy for Women - NITI Aayog, Governing Council of National Institute of Design (NID) - Ahmedabad, National Entrepreneurship Award Jury and The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
